Founded in 2014, (Bike Transit) is a woman-owned business that
operates and manages bike share programs nation-wide along with our
customer service call center. Our mission is to operate bike share
systems that create connections in our communities and protect our
planet. Bike Transit employees provide safe, seamless, reliable,
and memorable customer experiences, and create mutually-rewarding
relationships with our riders, suppliers, and clients. We are
currently looking for a dedicated Outreach Manager to join our
Downtown, Los Angeles team! The Outreach Manager will be located in
LA and responsible for assisting with the creation and execution of
the overall marketing strategy for Metro Bike Share, with a focus
on events, promotions, and building community relationships. The
Outreach Manager, will schedule, manage, create and support
community events and outreach efforts. They will ensure an
enthusiastic and fun presence in the community via outreach and
events to drive awareness, educate and sell passes for Metro Bike
Share. The Outreach Manager will bring diversity, equity, inclusion
and social justice lens, and understand the potential that bike
share offers to improve the lives of all community members. Core
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for outreach to create and maintain relationships
with community stakeholders and gatekeepers in order to achieve
company and department goals.
- Plan and execute equity and outreach programs and
initiatives.
- Leads and manages the Senior Field Marketing Coordinator and
their team of Brand Ambassadors.
- Track event key performance areas (quantitatively and
qualitatively) and identify areas of improvement for future
outreach including reports on promotions and programs KPIs and
produces the Marketing executive summary for the monthly report to
Metro.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and
external teams and partners, including LA Metro, Los Angeles County
and City representatives.
- Manage the team to ensure MBS event participation and
follow-ups with event organizers and internal team.
- Establish standardized outreach and event procedures and train
staff to execute them safely and effectively and coordinate closely
with technical and operational Metro Bike Share team members.
- Leads the Metro Bike Share annual survey design.
- Build and adhere to an outreach budget.
- Networking, including attendance and participation in public
meetings for bike advocacy and other community developments.
- Monitor grant opportunities and coordinate efforts related to
grant applications as needed by gathering partners, data and by
writing and submitting application proposals, in partnership with
LA Metro as applicable.
- Assist with other tasks that support marketing objectives and
strategies as assigned by the General Manager.Education and/or Work
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree, or equivalent job-related experience in
business, marketing or related field preferred
- Minimum 4-5 years of professional experience in business,
community engagement, outreach, marketing, event planning, or
related field preferred
- 2+ years of management experience preferred.
- Capable of working with internal and external teams and
partners
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to
maintain a client-friendly demeanor in a fast-paced
environment.
- Experience coordinating large-scale events; Exceptional project
management track record.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a
team.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing community
relationships.
- Excellent organization and written and verbal communication
skills to both internal and external teams and partner.
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to thrive in a flexible and
constantly changing environment.
- Experience with social media platforms
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Applications, and
ability to learn new software.
- Excitement about bike share
- Experience in the health and wellness, active transportation
Physical Requirements and Special Demands: The physical demands
described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this
job.
- Must be able to ride a Metro Bike while in the field, at
events, or in the warehouse.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record -that passes
insurance requirements for the company.
- Comfortable driving, stopping and working in busy outdoor urban
environments.
- Will require outdoor work in various types of weather.
- Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a
time.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and carry for up to 100 feet.

- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance
with company and department policy.
- Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or fingers
occasionally throughout the workday.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
throughout the workday.
- Will require travel within the Greater Los Angeles area.
- This role requires an on-site presence in the office to address
ad-hoc, in-person requests and personnel matters. -Working shifts
from home can be accommodated on occasion, depending on department
and system needs.
- This is a full-time position where you will be expected to work
32 hours per week (4 days per week, 8 hours per day). Some hours
outside of this, including nights and weekends, may be required.A
